Top 5 ways to love your skin
Aside from using natural skincare products, there are lots of amazing ways we can help support our skin. Whether you suffer from premature ageing, blemishes and breakouts or dryness and dehydration, my tips below can help you on your journey to a clear, youthful complexion.
Facial massage
The fast pace of modern life can have a negative effect on our wellbeing, both inside and out. Over time, increased stress levels are projected onto our skin, resulting in fine lines, wrinkles and dullness. Facial massage is a great way to help revive the skin to its natural, youthful state whilst relinquishing the mind of the worries and tension life brings. I spent over 4 years perfecting my 48 movement massage that works to tone the face, reduce puffiness and gently iron-out wrinkles. Found in my Natural Facelift Facial, it leaves your skin looking gorgeously youthful and you feeling miraculously refreshed with the stresses of life melted away. For the ultimate beauty cheat, why not try my 5 minute facial massage at home.
Find your stress outlet
Finding an outlet for your stress is essential for balancing your cortisol levels. During times of stress, cortisol slows down your immune system to allow your body to redirect energy to muscles and mental functions, making your skin more susceptible to infections and potential flare-ups of chronic conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. Another of cortisol’s influences is an increase in sebum, and sebum that remains trapped in your skin’s pores cause acne to develop or worsen. My favourite stress buster is Tai Chi as the gentle movements can be practised both inside and out, and maintaining a calm frame of mind helps to improve my quality of sleep and wellbeing.
Eat an Alkaline Diet
Supporting a stable pH in the blood is essential for skin health. Eating an alkaline rich diet helps our bodies to retain balance both physically and mentally, which keeps break outs to a minimum. I recommend eating a 70% alkaline diet, however the emphasis has to be put on the joy you get from these simple upgrades. Piling your plate high with bright colours will increase your vitamin and mineral intake and in turn improve your wellbeing. Try alkaline forming dark green veg accompanied by bright beets, blueberries and tomatoes that are packed with immune boosting phytonutrients to keep your body and skin healthy.
Get your beauty sleep
Beauty sleep is not a myth. Our skin regenerates between the hours of 10pm and 2am, so ensuring that you have completed your skincare regime by this time is essential if you want to get the best out of your products. Aim for at least seven hours a night and sleep on a silk pillow to help prevent the development of fine lines and wrinkles.
Use a mask
Masks are a key part of our skincare regime as they act as a targeted treatment for any skin conditions we are having trouble with such as dullness, dehydration and ageing. My Mask Supreme offers 7 wonder skin benefits that every single skin type and condition can benefit from. Harnessing revolutionary Oleosome Technology that hydrates the skin immediately and over time, rejuvenating mango butter and an anti-oxidant rich blue-green micro algae, it’s a true one pot wonder. What’s more, I’m treating all of our customers in the UK & Ireland to FREE shipping when you place an order over £35, so go on, show your skin some love and simply enter promotional code LOVE at the checkout!
